Action in our house

Finally, hammering could be heard as the windows are starting to be installed in our house. After 3 attempts at the Milgard Factory to make the 6 windows that will go in the top part of the kitchen/great room, success was achieved to get the critical measurement right for the placing of the mullion. Our name is recognizeable now by all the Milgard factory workers as well as Dahl Glass Company who we had to go through for ordering. Can you imagine making 24 windows (3'9" x 10') to finally get 6 right for our order in that space? I'm sure more than one person wasn't happy with that ordeal. In order for the look of uniformity as you are looking at the house from the view side, the citical measurement was 28 3/8" from the bottom of the window to the top of the 5" mullion. That created the line that carried from either side of this middle section of windows.
Milgard delivered the whole house window order with 2 guys last week and it was interesting to see their installers come back this week and put in the big windows and sliding doors that fit in the bottom area of the kitchen/great room and then do the onsite glazing (that actually means they installed the glass into the window and door frames). These set of 2 windows are huge and way to heavy for the total installation of glass into frames at the factory. They are built with 2 stationary windows on either side of a slider. One each for the kitchen and great room areas. They measure 12 feet long and 8 feet tall.
The rest of the windows for the house should be installed next week. From there, we will soon be seeing the plumber and electrician doing their thing as we finalize our picks for things to continue for flooring, cabinets, counters, etc. etc. etc. YEAH!!!
